Private 5G

Samsung is bringing private 5G networking into Hana Financial’s office environment in South Korea. The deployment is described as the country’s first private 5G smart office for the financial sector, linking Samsung’s enterprise wireless technology with Hana’s workplace operations. Unlike public mobile networks, a private 5G system is dedicated to a specific organization or site, giving the operator greater control over connectivity, security, performance, and device management.

The initiative reflects growing interest in private cellular networks as companies modernize offices and industrial facilities. A dedicated 5G network can support connected devices, high-bandwidth applications, real-time collaboration, automated workflows, and other services that may be difficult to manage reliably over conventional Wi-Fi alone. For a financial institution, the technology also offers a path toward tightly managed communications infrastructure in an environment where security and operational resilience are important. Samsung is supplying the networking capabilities, while Hana Financial serves as the enterprise deployment partner. Together, the companies are positioning the project as an example of how private 5G can move beyond factories and logistics sites into corporate offices and regulated industries. The cluster centers on this single rollout and its significance as an early Korean financial-sector smart-office use case.
